Madeline R. :  Flowerpots for Darfur

madeline with flowerpots

These pictures were taken at the Women's Seder at Congregation Agudath Israel. Madeline made a presentation regarding the situation in Darfur and explained that she hoped that the flowerpots would be used at people's Passover Seder table to start conversation about how we can all help the people of Darfur.

At the end of the evening, Madeline had sold over 75 flowerpots and had 15 letters to send to President Bush. Since that time Madeline has sold over 150 flowerpots and is hoping that the conversations that come about the flowerpots will inspire others to get involved. The flower pots have been sent as far as Florida and Buffalo, NY.

Madeline is working with her felllow students and teachers at Mount Pleasant Middle School in Livingston to also raise funds and awareness. She is working on the "Dimes for Darfur" campgain and is hoping to sell her flowerpots at school as well.

Madeline(and her Mom) heard Arielle speak at the Morristown rally and were very inspired by her and the other speakers. Madeline feels very connected to the cause and the organization. She noted in her presentation about Help Darfur Now and that she wanted to be a part of a student run organization that is making a difference.

If you wish to purchase a flowerpot or get more information about how to make one, you may email Madeline (care of her Mom, Bonnie) at Bonnie@therosenfelds.org or contact us at Help Darfur Now.
