GO THE DISTANCE FOR DARFUR

GO THE DISTANCE FOR DARFUR, the four week running/walking program that took place throughout the month of July raised $6325 for Help Darfur Now, Inc.    There were 31 participants in this program who together raised $5006.50, and 14 businesses donated a total of $1318.50. 

All money raised was sent to Help Darfur Now, Inc., an organization that sends 98% of all its proceeds to the victims of the genocide in Darfur, the western region of the Sudan in Africa.  The money will go towards food, medical supplies, and any other needed supplies for the genocide victims, as well as efforts to end the genocide.

Kevin would like to thank all runners/walkers in this program for their efforts to help raise money, as well as to all those people who donated.   He would also like to thank all businesses that donated including Earth Rider Bike Shop, the Independent Register, Tricor Insurance, Citizen’s Bank, Body Crafters, and Video Age. 

A special thanks to the following 8 businesses for each donating $100 or more: Computer Know How, the Vision Clinic in Brodhead, Pinnow Pharmacy, Bank of Brodhead, Arn’s Auto Service, the Brodhead Veterinary Medical Center, Spring Valley Storage, and Ag Spectrum.
